Nathan – Prison Ministry in Uganda

Nathan was in prison in 2002 for aggravated robbery. His good conduct earned him privileges into certain areas of prison where he found the Life to the Full study book in one of the cupboards. On completing this course by himself in prison, he gave his life to Christ. After paying his price to society, he wanted to give his life to serve those in prison.

He was released from prison then went to Bible College for 1 year. He has since started the prison ministry using Sean Life to the full books exclusively and currently has approximately 500 students who have given their lives to the Lord. He meets in different Uganda prisons, where he goes regularly. He rewards his students with small pieces of soap, pens, safety razor blades, in reward for remembering their Bible verses each week. The pen and soap are very luxury items for them. For the ladies, he likes to reward them with hygiene sanitary items and of course soap as their rewards. The prisons do not provide any of this to the prisoners. He is committed to continuing this ministry and to released prisoners alike.

He travels to the different prison by foot as he has no transport. He has just ordered a further 100 copies of Life to the Full.

Our commitment to Nathan is to continue to support him in prayer, fellowship and course material. Of course we would like to buy him a motor bike to help him travel from prison to prison so we are praying for this.

Destiny Bible School
Agnes Odur contacted SEAN UK, whilst living in Nairobi Kenya to start a SEAN programme. Her information was given to Daniel in Uganda who then met with her. Her husband moved from Kenya to Uganda and Agnes decided to set up a part time Bible School in Kampala using SEAN materials. She is currently attending the Uganda Christian University studying a master’s degree in organizational leadership and development.

Agnes agreed to be on the Executive Board of the Ndejje Resource centre and brings skills and gifting to the programme. She has now begun fulfilling her vision to start a full time discipleship school using SEAN courses exclusively and her passion and calling is very evident.

Her aim is to train potential leaders and mission workers and send them out with SEAN materials, training them to then train others. She is formulating her own NGO to run this Bible school. She has committed herself to translate the material into Luo, the Northern Uganda Dialect. SEAN Uganda will hold the hard copies and discs in the office when the translation is finished.

Rob and James were privileged to give Diplomas to the Students who have now successfully completed the 6 books of Mathews Gospel.
